Institute for Technology of Agricultural and Foodstuffs, Faculty of Agriculture and Food Sciences is one of the leading research institutes in the field of food production, distribution and control as well as dissemination of knowledge at the University of Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Research and business strategy of the Institute is in agreement with the University, national and international strategy with a focus on educating staff and research and development in the field of agriculture and food technology. The main guidelines of this strategy include the improvement of knowledge and skills in sustainable management of food production, the exploitation of biological resources as well as development of new technologies and products in the food chain.

Vision and mission

The Institute’s vision is to be a Center of excellence and one of the leaders of scientific-technological development and innovation in the food chain in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Its mission is to achieve notable results of scientific research to national and international level and their application in order to increase competitiveness by improving the production of safe and nutritionally fortified foods that contribute to quality of life of the modern era.

Transfer of knowledge and technology

Cooperation with industry is an important part of the Institute’s activities and a bridge between the scientific and technical research and their practical application. This process is realized through the transfer of knowledge through conferences, conferences, seminars and workshops, as well as through transfer of technologies through projects, consulting, design, feasibility studies, elaborates, training, etc. Consequently it can be seen that the Institute is a place where you meet science and economy.
